It’s been some year for me. I’m currently recovering from ankle fusion surgery. Little did I know that the hysterectomy was a practice run. This recovery has been much much slower.I’m now 12 weeks post op and almost able to walk again.I was 7 weeks of non weight bearing…[Read more]
Lovely to hear from you. I’m still waiting for my surgery…..the preparation involved beforehand is quite worrying. Zimmer frames and toilet seat deliveries!! Hope to get the op in the summer after our holiday. Schools have 2 and a half weeks of term left. My son has sat his exams just need to wait for the results in August.

No Cariad don’t feel foolish at all. I’d definitely get along to gp and discuss it. I definitely need my hrt patches.
Not looking forward to preop tomorrow. Will be on crutches 12 weeks and unable to weight bear for at least 6 weeks.
Hi Cariad. Thanks for the birthday wishes. It’s my first gluten free birthday 😉 I’ve got a normal cake for the rest of the family though.
I’ve got my preop assessment on Thu.
Sorry to hear about your pelvis. Did you ever start on hrt? I know joint pains can be part of the menopause.
Miss your twinny and the rest of the ladies.
Lol Cariad about your kitty. Has she ventured out yet. Sushi hasn’t been out alone yet. My daughter is scared he will run away so instead he goes for walks on a cat lead….
I’ve been struggling with arthritis in my ankle for a while now. However it seems that I’m going to have to get it fused. So unbelievably the hysterectomy was an…[Read more]

Can’t believe that it is almost a year since our ops. Where has the time gone???
I am still gluten free and notice my swelly belly return instantly if I’ve accidentally eaten any gluten. Totally a strange side effect of the op but still so glad I did it.
My daughter is still struggling at school…[Read more]
Vanessa I’m on hrt patches which are supposed to be most like natural oestrogen. Maybe worth considering patches? I am watching what I eat to stop putting on weight having lost 4 stone the year before op.
I’ve also been given hrt pessaries for dryness only Bern using them since Monday though. My Tuesday 43 I need higher oestrogen than if I was in…[Read more]
Hi Cariad. Was thinking of you on Friday. Glad you got your kitten. We struggle to find sushi especially when she is somewhere dark. We have a cage she goes in overnight so we know he is safe. Glad you got a chance to talk to your Dh. Mine isn’t the best either for emotional support and its taken me awhile to realise this am I’m ok with it now.
So glad to have had your support over the past months and I think it has changed us all.
I would even eat some gluten again so I could jump aboard the swelly belly bus again.
Definitely consider…[Read more]
Hi Cariad and Paula.
Huge hugs to you Cariad. You are a fantastic female. So sorry to hear how you are feeling. I agree with Paula ‘re nieces announcement. Do you also think that your hormone level maybe low as you aren’t on any hrt are you?
Hopefully you have got in touch with Paula I am also here if you ever want to chat.
Lovely to hear from you today too Cariad.
Sushi is a black kitten too. She is 10 weeks old and very cute and very playful!! Although atm she is lying sleeping on my knee.
I am looking forward to winter…is that sad! Love getting cosy indoors although I don’t like the dark nights. That reminds me to buy a new bulb for my SAD lamp.
Hi ladies remember me 😉
Sorry to hear that you have the cold at half term Cariad. Keep warm and snuggle up with your cats. We have got a lovely little kitten a couple of weeks ago called sushi to try and help my daughter. She is really struggling with secondary school… We are on half term holidays here too. It’s definitely needed!

I can’t believe it is 6 months today since my hysterectomy! I’m glad I had it done but definitely don’t think I realized how long it takes to recover. Or that I’d be changing how I eat because of it.
Glad you are coping with being back at school Cariad.
Making bread in the breadmaker atm. First time since going gluten free and it smells…[Read more]

Hi Cariad. Glad you enjoyed your holiday but your poor hubby!
Well I had my gynae appointment on Wed…..Saw the consultant who did my op. I had to get the silver nitrate treatment on a bit that hadn’t healed properly but the most bizarre bit was her answer to my continuing swelly belly!! I’m to try a gluten free diet for 2 weeks and see if it…[Read more]
