    Hi Melnda
I had the tvt tape and my scars were on top.. symphysis pubis area, one either side, quite small. I think its the TOT that has the groin scars. Its a similar thing just carried out slightly differently. However you would know they were there if you’d had it done I’m sure. Hope you’re ok. I saw those videos and they are good. I am now 6…[Read more]

  • Hi
I had a spinal + sedation for my vaginal hysterectomy + anterior and posterior repairs + TVT. It wasn’t what I had originally thought I was getting but it was absolutely fine with the bonus that the pain relief was there for a few hours post op from the injection and no sore throat from a GA. I don’t remember anything at all as I think they…[Read more]

    Hi All
I recently had a repair for rectocele at the same time as my hysterectomy and TVT. The consultant I had does not use mesh for this op due to the possible complications, but uses some existing natural fascia/tissue I think he said wouldn’t cause any of the problems linked with mesh. Worth checking with your consultants. I have had no…[Read more]

  • Hi it sounds like what I had. TVH + anterior and posterior repairs and I had a TVT similar to TOT, just attached in a different place. Muscadet’s description is accurate , it stops stress incontinence. I had a prolapsed uterus, adenomysosis and stuff and had the procedures done altogether in November. Although there were ups and downs during the…[Read more]

    Hi
Op was Nov 8th.just on phased return now, back fulll time next week, I’m a radiographer/mammographer which involves quire a lot of stretching lifting and bending. Wouldn’t be as long without the hysterectomy I don’t think. Another question for the consultant maybe?

    Hi Tamsin
Not been on here for a week or two but have just read your posts. i had a rectocele, cystocele and stress incontinence along with my uterine prolapse, adenomyosos etc etc so my wonderful consultant fixed it all at the same time in November.
I had a TVT (tension free vaginal tape) inserted to remedy the stress incontinence which may be…[Read more]

Are you taking iron or laxatives or annything? I amhaving to at the moment and I’m afraid they certainly have that effect on me ๐Ÿ™ I’m 14 weeks post-op and it seems to be worse in the evenings.

  • Hi
I had a lot of pain and bleeding from my bowels post surgery in Nov but I suspected it was piles playing up, I have had prev probs with them. Gynae said it was nothing to do with op so been referred and having sigmoidoscopy and probably banding as apparently they are very large. I wonder whether the op has just stirred everything up and taking…[Read more]

Oh and forgot to say, my consultant doesn’t use mesh to repair rectocele, he used some tissue that is already part of you… facia or something. I think mesh is used to hold it all together in some cases.. not 100% sure on that. Maybe worth asking…

    Hi Julie and Melnda
Just popped back on here to see how everyone was doing and noticed you have rectocele/cystocele. I had those and had them repaired at the same time as my uterine prolapse repair and TVH in November. I also had a TVT tape for the stress incontinence caused by the rectocele and that has been absolutely brilliant, no leaking…[Read more]

  • Hi Kim
I had a vaginal op 12 weeks ago, no laparoscopy and didn’t get a swelly belly. It seems to be a very individual thing. I guess your decision on surgery now or not may also depemd on your age and the problems you are having.I’m sure you’ll be able to make th right decision for you and there are loys of ladies on here who have gone through…[Read more]

I had them for 4 days post op and didn’t take any home. Just had to wear stockings for 7 weeks yil post op! Must vary from Trust to Trust and I think it depends what your mobility was like before the op. Its about getting back to whatever is normal for you… well thats what the nurses told me..

  • Hi Blondie
I agree, I had pinky, watery spotting at that stage. I think its when the internal stitches are healing and often happens around that time. Upto 6 weeks is normal and fine so long as its not heavy and not smelly. I had some after that as well and it was granulation tissue which was sorted with a silver nitrate treatment. Just speak to…[Read more]

  • Hi well went for check up with consultant today and he’s very happy with everything, no signs of anything prolapsing again etc. Said I should get the bowels checked out so also seen GP. Now referred to colorectal to check if its the piles…. blooming things have been bleeding as well. Honestly there’s always something ๐Ÿ™ Moan over… xxx

  • Hi
Not sure how long it took but they checked height, weight, blood pressure, took blood samples, urine samples and MRSA swabs, did an ECG and generally explained about what would happen when you went in. It was an opportunity to ask questions which I wasted really as I couldn’t think of any at the time so its a good idea to write down any queries…[Read more]

    Hi Tracy
Its sounds like its normal discharge. I think so long as its brownish and not a lot its ok. Can last upto about 6 weeks. As Becci says if you are worried speak to GP or nurse at the hospital.
Glad you’re ok otherwise, take care and enjoy the rest.

I’m 10 weeks post op now and feeling well but get really tired quickly but not to the same extent as you by the sound of it. Could you be anaemic? I was and GP put me on iron tabs which has helped a lot… need lactulose as well…. My consultant said 3 months minimum as I’m a radiographer so I have a sicknote for 14 weeks. Anyway good luck…[Read more]
