Yes thank you Vajazzle that is very helpful 👍🏻 I will get practicing 😊

Although 2 weeks further on than you, I still get stingy/pulling/draggy feelings from behind my vertical scar, especially if I’ve been up and about too long – I just assume that is from the healing going on inside!

Going to take it very steady when I start a bit of work next…[Read more]

    Belated birthday greetings Veronica 🎂

    Quick question ladies.
I’ll be 6 weeks post op on Monday and hoping to go and do a little work next week. Does anyone know if we are insured to drive from 6 weeks, or are you supposed to wait to get the ok at the post op check?? My check up isn’t until the following week!

    Many thanks
    Glynise

Yes Veronica,I will be interested to see if my Medical Centre removes me from the smear test list they have been advised to via letter!!!

So sorry to hear you are still having problems with the healing of your wound. I think you said yours is a vertical wound – I’m sure there is much more internal healing and that’s why the process takes…[Read more]

Thanks for the advice Hayley, I have booked an appt for Monday 😊

  • Glynise replied to the topic April operation 4 in the forum April 1 year, 4 months ago

Well done Alison, you’ve arrived at the right place 😄

I was hoping you would feel a bit better than when I spoke to you the other day – hopefully you will feel more comfortable very soon. I’ve actually had a bit more discomfort in the last couple of days but I think it’s maybe the internal stitches starting to heal and get tighter.

Sorry to hear you are still having some problems Kate, hope all goes well at hospital for you today 👍🏻

Just another quick question ladies…. I went to the docs on Tuesday as although my would is healing well, a couple of the dissolvable stiches seemed to be lingering! She said it looked ok, however, yesterday I found a thick twine like piece of…[Read more]

I used organic Epsom salts in the bath too! 😌

  • Glynise replied to the topic April operation 4 in the forum April 1 year, 4 months ago

Funny you should mention a bath Louise, I finally had one last night and I’m 25 days post op… I was told I could bath from when I left hospital though, as long as I thoroughly dried the area afterwards!

Oooo that seems quite early to be discussing a return to work? Is that usual, I work for myself so not used to dealing with occupational health!

Quick question- have you April gals got your 6 week post op appointments through yet? I haven’t…

    Hi Ladies

Veronica – Sorry to hear you are still having a few problems with your wound healing, do you have to keep a dressing on it all the time? They took my dressing off after day 2 and it does seem to be healing quite well. Although, I think a couple of the stiches may need removing as they don’t seem to have dissolved!

    Philippa – I keep…[Read more]

    Hi Claire and Fiona

After a rather hectic weekend, I am definitely going to take your advice that 3 weeks is too early for swimming 😳
Too much walking about and socialising have exhausted me and left me with little twinges in my tummy again! I was too tired to do much at all on Saturday.

    Thanks again X

    Hi Marchers

Just popped in from April Hysties, hope you don’t mind.
I noticed you have been talking about swimming and wondered if you can give me a bit of advice!
I am 3 weeks post op tomorrow (I had a vertical cut with dissolvable stitches). I am feeling quite well as long as I don’t overdo it… walking between 20/30 mins a days and doing…[Read more]

Hope you got on ok today Veronica and that the antibiotics are starting to work for you. Gx

    Welcome to you V ?

Firstly, I hope you have a swift recovery.

I too have gone into surgical menopause. I am 52 but was still having periods before my abdominal ‘hysty’ I am 18 days post op and although I’ve felt a little hot here and there, nothing dramatic appears to have occurred yet 👍🏻

How about you other April girls?

    Hope you are all…[Read more]

Kate and Philippa – sorry to hear you’ve been hAving a few problems and I hope they get sorted for you super fast and hoping you get home to your own ‘comfy couch’ very soon Philippa.

Veronica – I am 13 days post op now. I have been for a coffee to a local garden centre and also had a tiny walk with friends…. I think the key is to do things for…[Read more]

I am 10 days post op – Although I have general swelling of the tummy – what I refer to as my ‘shelf’ (which I sincerely hope goes back to normal one day….)
I definitely get extra swelling and discomfort when I do to much, it actually looks like it’s full of air at this point 💨 After I relax for a while again, it does seem to go down.
    I haven’t…[Read more]

    Evening ladies

I’m so sorry to hear some of you haven’t been feeling good, it really is a balancing act isn’t it.
After really over doing yesterday, I’ve had myself a very chilled day today and feeling much better for it 👍🏻
Wind is horrendously painful, I found peppermint tea really helped me but I know everyone’s different.

    Good luck tomorrow…[Read more]

Just read your post too now Claire! I’m only 8 days post op and was already feeling like I could do a bit more. It just shows, no matter how good we are feeling, we probably shouldn’t be pushing ourselves too hard in these early weeks! 😕

  • Glynise replied to the topic April Operation 3 in the forum April 1 year, 5 months ago

    Ooooo Adele,

So sorry to hear you’ve had a little set back, I’m sure hospital is the best place to be at the moment though, hope they sort it for you quickly 😘

Also, sorry to hear you’ve been postponed K, hospitals are so different, I didn’t have to do any of that… Just had to have a shower in the morning, on the day I went in for surgery!

    I…[Read more]
