  • Morning girls
I was told that my frozen shoulder is more common after a hysterectomy!!!
Off to fracture clinic tomorrow – 4 weeks in a cast already. I’m hoping it’ll come off and an air boot fitted.
Lily-Ann, so nice to hear from you. Let us know how you get on.
Have a good day everyone, I’ll be decorating Christmas trees in work.
    Sal x

  • Hi everyone
I’m back at work, trying not to hobble too much. The doctor at the fracture clinic last week said a bone had moved but that it wouldn’t affect the healing!!Next Wednesday they’re going to take the cast off and hopefully fit me with an air boot sort of thing. He says it’s more comfy and I’ll be able to take it off in bed and do gentle…[Read more]

  • Hi girls
I haven’t been on here for a couple of weeks because I broke my foot cleaning the bath!! I had both feet on the ground, I was dressed and dry, I just leant too much on one side of my foot. I’ve been home for a fortnight and am going back to the fracture clinic this morning. I’m hoping the doctor will say I’m fit enough to go back to work…[Read more]

  • Good evening
I’ve had a lovely day. Worked for a couple of hours in the gardens (front and back and both tiny) so things are looking tidier now – what a lot of big spiders. I’ve been watching Christmas movies too – what a load of old tosh – Dean Cain has come down since his Superman days.
I think I must have been feeling rather nostalgic earlier.…[Read more]

  • Hi everyone
It’s exactly a year today that I had my procedures. I’m really good apart from the ongoing teapot weeing issues!
I’m feeling a bit sentimental about the whole time now. I really enjoyed staying at home and gently convalescing for 8 weeks. It was such a nice time, watching all the slushy movies on Christmas 24 and then watching them…[Read more]

  • Hi everyone
Oh SC – what a nightmare. I am sorry to hear what happened. Let’s hope the results come back soon and things are good.
I went for my uro-gynae appointment yesterday. The nurse basically said that this was my lot; that I would have to pee squatting over the loo forever and that I needed to triple void to ensure I didn’t leave any urine…[Read more]

  • Hi girls
Almost a year for me and everything’s good hysterectomy wise. The prolapse surgery is good too.
The TVT attached to support my bladder is still giving me problems and I still have to stand over the loo to pee. I’m used to it now although it does take forever, dribble, drop, piddle, drip. I’ve got an appointment at the nurse led uro-gynae…[Read more]

    Hello ladies
I haven’t been here in ages and when I tried to leave a message I wasn’t logged in and I couldn’t get on…..
Anyway, it’s so nice to see you all still here and getting on with stuff, give my love to Cupcake when she texts next. she was a pillar of strength to me during my time in hospital and afterwards.
    I’m 30 weeks post op today.…[Read more]

    Hi Otters
Apparently I am ‘unremarkable’. They want to see me in another 4 months to check that I’m still emptying my bladder properly and that’s it.
The bulge is ‘not even mild’ – they’ll check it again at the next appointment.
The sore side might be an ovary, scar tissue or appendicitis!!!
After 90 minutes of catheters and not being able to pee…[Read more]

Off I go with my vaginal bulge……teapot peeing and twingey groin…..
Will report back later after 2 hours of catheters and scans – thank God for the NHS and lovely doctors!
Having said that, I’m not moaning, I think I’d rather have uro-gynae tests than dental work! All the best for your procedure later, Jane.
    Laterz girls, enjoy your day.

    Hi girls
I haven’t been on here for a couple of weeks, where does the time go? It’s great to hear that you’re all so well and getting on with life. I’m so pleased for Lily-Ann , and Muscadet, you’re coming along too.
I’ve just completed a 3 day bladder diary, measuring everything in and everything back out again! I’m glad to be able to leave my…[Read more]

    Morning girls
What does the weekend hold for you all? I’m having a quiet one – after all the travelling I’ve done this week I’m glad! I’m meeting my daughter for lunch. She works in a posh kitchenware shop down the road on Saturdays so I’ll treat her to eggs benedict at 2pm.

    Good afternoon Otters and Muscadet
How lovely to come back and read all your posts and get all the news. I’ve had the week off. I started in Devon with my friend, Avis, who moved down there at new year. It was bitterly cold and she’s staying in a holiday let which was like a fridge. Anyway, I thought Totnes was gorgeous, a bustling, friendly town…[Read more]

    Good afternoon girls
It’s a bitterly cold, grey day here in Peckham but I’ve got the fire lit, the children are all home for the weekend and the lamb is in the oven so I’ve plenty to be grateful for.
This week I have 3 medical things to attend to. Tomorrow is bloods for the RA, Tuesday is the appointment with the nurse, at long last, to examine my…[Read more]

    Morning girls
How great to see Muscadet back and on the couch albeit after a bumpy landing. I had all my stuff done vaginally so can’t comment on the staples. I wish you well tho and hope that it’s all over and done with quickly so that you can come and lay back amongst the cushions once more.
I have to admit to a little ‘cyber stalking’ as I…[Read more]

Just popped in from the October Otters to see if Muscadet had posted and there she is!
I’m so pleased you’re here safe and sound despite what sounds like a rough landing. I’m sure you’ll be on the mend soon, and don’t be scared to give yourself a dose of pain relief.
Take care, try to relax and sleep tight tonight.
    Lots of love

Muscadet: all the best for tomorrow and the coming week. It’ll be great to see you here back on the done couch.
Carol: I had the hyst and repairs and tvt for severe leaking bladder problems. There were several tests I had to undergo including jumping and washing my hands! There are many more and I have a follow up uro-gynae appt in…[Read more]

    Hi Otters
I didn’t get to the nurse this morning but have taken the morning off work tomorrow so that I’ve got all the time I need. I wont have to worry about being late for work, etc. I also have a gastro appt. at Kings at 11.45 so I’m going to spend the time in between at Starbucks!
The diet has been good today. Kept within my points and…[Read more]

    Hi girls
Still in a positive state of mind. The diet has gone well today. I don’t use the WW products as most of them have wheat in them. I’m just cutting down and eating plenty of fruit. I find it useful to track everything.
Carol, I’ve seen plenty of dieticians and advisers over the years and I could write more than half the diet books out…[Read more]

What lovely mates you all are. Thank you for all the very helpful advice and encouragement.
    * I’ve got a list for the nurse tomorrow.
    * I’m going back to WW as I lost 1.5 stone last year ready for the op. It’s not drastic and I can fit it in with the diabetes. I’m definitely going with the one day at a time idea. If I look to far ahead I feel…[Read more]
